Spencer Applegate is an entrepreneur turned investor and is passionate about helping technology entrepreneurs and business owners unlock value and achieve breakout growth.
Prior to joining M33, Spencer spent time investing in the search fund model at Pacific Lake Partners, the largest institutional investor in the search fund ecosystem, where he executed multiple buyouts of small to medium-sized enterprise software businesses. Prior to that, Spencer started three separate software businesses that have either exited or are running and growing today – Verusen, a supply chain optimization software, PainTheory, a digital health platform for interventional radiologists, and REscour, a data analytics platform for commercial real estate investment sales (now part of Colliers International).
Spencer graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology, summa cum laude, with a B.S. in Nuclear and Radiological Engineering. While at Tech, Spencer focused on particle physics research with his research group there and at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Spencer received his MBA from Harvard Business School, where he focused on distressed venture capital and growth equity investing. In his spare time, Spencer enjoys exploring wine, food, and cooking with his wife Chloe.
